Synopsis
Set in the late 19th century American West, the story follows Prentice "Prent" Ritter (Robert Duvall), an aging cowboy and Civil War veteran, who enlists the help of his estranged nephew Tom Harte (Thomas Haden Church) for one final job. The two men set out on a treacherous journey from Oregon to Wyoming to drive 500 horses, a venture meant to secure their financial futures.
