Set in New Orleans, the story centers on the Bell twins, who are standout players on their middle school basketball team. Their father, Chuck Bell, a former professional basketball player, serves as their coach, while their mother, Crystal Bell, is the school's principal. As the brothers face challenges both on and off the court including health issues within the family, romantic interests, and the pressures of growing up they begin to forge their own identities beyond basketball.
