Margaret Cho began her onscreen career with the ABC sitcom “All-American Girl” (1994–1995) before going on to appear in the action thriller movie “Face/Off” (1997) starring John Travolta and Nicolas Cage. She is known as a stand-up comedian as well as being an actress and has multiple comedy specials to her name, including “Assassin” (2005), “Cho Dependent” (2011), and “PsyCHO” (2015). She memorably appeared as North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il in the comedy series “30 Rock” (2011–2012), winning her a Primetime Emmy Award nomination. Cho has worked as a voice actor for animated series such as “Tuca & Bertie” (2021–2022), “The Great North” (2021), and “Kite Man: Hell Yeah!” (2024). She has appeared in a variety of different movies, including the romantic comedy “Fire Island” (2022), “The Listener” (2022) directed by Steve Buscemi, and the drama “All That We Love” (2024), where she stars in the lead role.
