After a series of appearances in Australian movies throughout the 90s, Jason Clarke hit the big screen with his roles in “Public Enemies” (2009) and “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” (2010). He went on to star in Kathryn Bigelow’s award-winning drama “Zero Dark Thirty” (2012) before memorable roles in “The Great Gatsby” (2013), “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” (2014), Terrence Malick’s “Knight of Cups” (2015), “Mudbound” (2017), and “The Aftermath” (2019). He starred as John Connor in “Terminator Genisys” (2015) before his role as NASA astronaut Ed White in “First Man” (2018). Despite being known predominantly for action and drama roles, he took a lead part in the supernatural horror movie “Pet Sematary” (2019) and also starred in the psychological thriller “The Devil All the Time” (2020). He was a member of the ensemble cast for Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” (2023), and he reunited with Kathryn Bigelow for “A House of Dynamite” (2025). Clarke has had a selection of main roles on the small screen, including “Brotherhood” (2006–2008), “Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty” (2022–2023), “The Last Frontier” (2025), and “Murdaugh: Death in the Family” (2025).
