A terrible plague kills millions of children across the United States, and the survivors suddenly begin to develop supernatural abilities, ranging from telekinesis to telepathy and beyond. As the government seeks to control them, it categorizes the children by color and puts them in specific camps. When Ruby escapes from her camp, she and other persecuted kids join forces to create a safe place to live together. But soon they decide that safety for themselves is not enough and begin their resistance.
