White Bird (2023)

Wonder prequel-sequel follows Julian learning about his grandmother's bravery during World War II

Serving as both a prequel and sequel to 2017's Wonder, White Bird follows Julian Albans (Bryce Gheisar), who has grappled with his sense of belonging ever since he was expelled from his previous school due to his bullying of Auggie Pullman (Jacob Tremblay in Wonder). In a bid to change his life, Julian's grandmother shares her own tale of bravery. During her youth in Nazi-occupied France, a boy offers her refuge from danger; together they discover first love in an enchanted world of their own, while the boy’s mother courageously risked everything to protect her.
