Sunja's resilience: a family's journey through World War II
Sunja and her family are deeply affected by the events of World War II. After her husband is arrested, she is left to support their two sons alone. In an effort to escape the hardships of city life, Sunja begins selling kimchi on the streets of Osaka in 1938. As her sons Noa and Mozasu grow up in a time of scarcity and war, they face many challenges. Despite the struggles, Sunja grows stronger and perseveres. Her grandson Solomon, however, faces new challenges when he becomes involved in a large, morally ambiguous business deal with Mamoru Yoshii, a Japanese businessman. How Solomon handles the ethical questions raised by this deal and the behavior of his business partner will be crucial for his future.
