Synopsis
A couple seeks to change oppressive societal reforms during a pivotal time in Indian history, shaping the future of the nation in the truest essence.
A poignant biographical drama that shines a light on the life and times of India’s visionary 19th-century social reformers, Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule. Set under the backdrop of 1800s India, we see the struggles of their earlier life through flashbacks and vicariously learn about their relentless efforts to fight gender inequality, caste discrimination, and challenge upper caste orthodox practices, against all odds.
