Romance, fantasy and science fiction collide in this otherworldly story of two souls drawn to each other across time and space, tied together through a red string tha escapes their understanding.

Two high school students named Taki and Mitsuha, from very different sides of the world, begin to mysteriously swap bodies without ever having met before. They grow to form a deep connection with another, leaving little messages for each other as they navigate this strange occurrence. They decide to find each other but right before their meeting the swapping abruptly stops and Taki is left to find out what changed their destiny. He discovers that they are not only separated by distance but also by time, and Mitsuha’s world is likely to be ravaged by a comet, a fate he can perhaps prevent in a race against time
