Sinopsis
Ngari : Manasarovar to Everest Is the presentation of a pilgrimage to Lake Manasarovar, the holiest lake in Western Tibet, place of pilgrimage for Hindus and Buddhist for hundreds of years. The video begins with a background presentation of the religion and life in Tibet under the Chinese occupation. It continues with 3 days of driving through the villages of Western Tibet ending at Lake Manasarovar and continuing further to the border town of Nyalam. Later we go over high mountain passes on the Friendship Highway, the only relatively decent road in Tibet, to Tingri, and further to Ronghpu Monastery, the highest monastery in the world, 8 km away of the Tibetan Everest base camp. Next we take you to a short hike to Camp 1 in the Everest and returning towards Lhasa through a high pass from where we can see a cross section of the entire Himalayan range. Ngari: Manasarovar to Everest (50 minutes) covers Lhatse, Saga, Dzongba, Darchen, Lake Manasarovar, Rongphu Monastery and Mt. Everest up to Camp 1.
