In the ninth season of the successful series, Dr. Martin Gruber (Hans Sigl) is once again very busy at work and fights for the well-being of his patients with great tenacity, becoming personally touched by their fates. After the death of Arthur Distelmeier, he tries to make a new start with Arthur's daughter Anne in their hitherto hapless love story. This effort is put to the test when they have to prevent Anne's financial ruin. Meanwhile, Lilli is away in New Zealand, Hans is taking care of the Gruber farm, and Lisbeth is still suffering as a result of her smoke poisoning, although she would like to go back to whirling around on the farm.
