A musical retelling of the political process behind the Declaration of Independence

Desperate to declare independence from Great Britain, John Adams is impatient and frustrated. Meanwhile, his fellow delegates Benjamin Franklin and Richard Henry Lee try to promote the declaration, which lands in the hands of Thomas Jefferson, whose job it is to draft it. As the proposed document enters Congress, the clause around slavery proves to be a challenge as debates between delegates heat up.
