In racially segregated 1960s Birmingham, two best friends, one Black and one white, stood together despite community prejudice. Decades later, after one returns home following her father’s death, they rekindle their friendship and navigate the challenges of modern life, while flashbacks to their childhood reveal how those formative years continue to shape their bond.
