Adonis Johnson’s life is filled with street fights, and he ends up in youth detention until his deceased father’s wife takes him in. His father was a former heavyweight champion, and Adonis begins to follow in his footsteps, despite his stepmother’s objections. Frustrated with his progress years later, he seeks out his father’s rival-turned-friend, Rocky, who begins to guide him physically and mentally as Adonis seeks to carve out his own path in boxing.
