Fargo (1996)

A dead body in the snow leads a diligent local police officer into a unique investigation

Hapless car salesman Jerry Lundegaard conspires secretly to have his wife kidnapped and to use his wealthy father-in-law’s money to get himself out of debt. The ensuing chaos results in Minnesotan police officer Marge Gunderson beginning an investigation into the murder of a state trooper and two civilians. Marge uses her skills of deduction and follows the clues that lead all the way back to a car dealership and a very suspicious salesman.
